Where can I get a download of the version previous to 2014

Following the carnage on my machine over the last two days, which is solely a result of (another) buggy program update, I have finally managed to get the avast uninstall tool to clean out the computer. As a result I am running without AV at the moment. Can any of the evangelists on the site guide me to a download of the previous free AV version which was working fine at the week-end?
At this moment I am not interested in 2014, so please no helpful hints as to how I might download that then correct it: I just want to revert to the last good version on my m/c.

I used system restore rather than the uninstall, clean, reinstall. Just use a restore point previous to the update.

Since at oldapps.com the Avast Free Antivirus 8.0.1497 (81.32 MB) is in fact the new version 9.0.2006.159, the question remains, where to find the real last working version of Avast Free Antivirus 8.0.1497 ???

Version 1497 is nowhere to find…

FileHippo’s old links are messed up. It actually download v9 for that link. The link I provided should work fine.

@Alikhan, Have you tried it yourself? It downloads version 9.0.2006 also.

O.o. You’re correct. Yesterday, I installed 8.0.1497 using that link on another PC…

Once I find a link, I’ll post it.

I don’t know what are you downloading but FileHippo Mirror link is version 8.0.1497.
I just downloaded it and checked in details and it is version 8.0.1497.
It has almost 126 mb.

@Abruptum. I clicked on the download link where it states 125,81 MB in the upper right corner.

Yes, thank you. The mirror is correct. The 125,81 is incorrect. It point to the wrong download of 81,5 MB.

Thanks everyone, now back up and running with Ver 8.0.1497 and will not be moving over to 2014 anytime soon!
