Where can I get Google OS?

I have been searching for this but I am unable to find it.

I got many torrents but I doubt its validity ::slight_smile:

I would be grateful if any of you will give me the official link if ever there is any

Also tell me , if VMware is better than VirtualBox - ‘I am more concerned about RAM usage’

Hello chris!
Maybe here it is:
http://getchrome.eu/download.php

But…where I really downloaded it is here:
http://gdgt.com/google/chrome-os/

You should sign up there…and the file is still in zip!

Hello Chris,

Here is the lifehacker article : http://lifehacker.com/5416968/the-humans-guide-to-running-google-chrome-os

There two methods. And the second one is better hopefully.

enjoy!

Thanks for that nmb, shiw

Downloaded it and ran it in a VM…well, until VirtualBox crashed… ::slight_smile:

Before you get started, you should know that Chrome OS (or in this early development stage, Chromium OS) is an operating system that essentially consists ONLY of a browser. You can't install applications or twiddle with settings—Chromium OS feels like it's just Google Chrome with no layer between it and your computer. It's a neat idea, but kind of disappointing for software geeks who like lots of settings. It acts just like a regular old browser with not too many innovations, except that it's lightning fast. For more on Chrome OS's backstory, see our first glimpse at Google Chrome OS.

Yep, literally the browser…(but because I am lazy I didn’t read this until now and just rushed through so I was a bit confused at first ;D)

Also, you will need a google account…and an internet connection.

Welcome. btw, could you log in to the os?

nmb

Yes i could, you need a google account (like a gmail) and an internet connection…

Oki, thanks. Thinking of trying it on vmware. Lets see… Internal test and stuff… busy…

@ Shiw and nmb

Thanks for your links

@ Spg Scott

Thanks for saying that VirtualBox crashed. I will install it on VMware

NOTE:

Be warned:

Most of the links I found on Google are mined to get our Google id and password

Wow

You are welcome Chris. Its just a copy and paste. Although it needs time to read such things on sites and remember them.
