hi guys…
i had recently installed “Ashapmoo movie shrink and burn 2”
it was a trial version…for a limited period …
after that i uninstalled it…delete wat all traces of the software could in application data folder, programs folder
and re installed the software …but it was still able to see that my period had expired and asked me for activtion…
i know it dropped something somewhere for this purpose …i am not able to figure out wat…i went thru the instalation logs and was nbot able to find anything…
i have tried it before with other softwares…i got thru this loop hole jus by deleting the folder in appilation data…
does any one know how it does this ???
Maybe after Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and booting, you should use a Registry Cleaner…
http://www.wisecleaner.com/
where does a program store it activation licences???
Where you can’t find them.
It is unlikely to record in the installation logs the location of its anti-piracy feature to stop people uninstalling and reinstalling to avoid time trial restrictions.
On the official forum for Alwil software, we are hardly likely to say how to circumvent the timed trial protection even if we knew it.
avast has a similar function on the 60 day trial of the pro version, you can uninstall and reinstall but you won’t get a further 60 days. avast believes if you have uninstalled the product you have concluded the trial, if reinstalled I think you get 6 days.
well i guess it was the wrong question to ask in this forum
well i suspect a DLL or something…
but anyways it does not matter cos i dont use ashampoo anymore…its stinks…autoGK,winAVIconverter are better
That’s why I’ve suggested a registry cleaner… and was not talking about piracy…
