I get the regular messages when an application is trying to get out through the firewall. Sometimes I take a look to see wht’s asking.
I’ve been getting some requests just showing a PID i.e. PID 10176
However, when I run tasklist I can’t find that PID.
where is Avast getting the PID?
Are you looking in the Task Manager, Details Tab ?
The PID column is just one of the options, see attached image.
PIDs can change, they don’t retain the same one all of the time, close a program and open it again and it may well have a different PID.
Yes I am also looking in the details tab.
I’m looking within seconds of getting the message from Avast and I’m not closing the message which may signal to the process that it has been refused.
Perhaps the process times out and is restarted by an parent process.
If you can attach a image of the Avast message, it might help.
Are you talking about the Avast firewall ?
If so unfortunately I don’t use the Avast Firewall so have no practical experience of it.
