where is “Behavior Monitoring” in new 9.0 version of free avast ?
is it now “deepscreen” option in settings?
The behavior shield as such has been merged into the file system shield, there are no user settings now that it has been merged.

i didn’t check all post about new 9.0 version, sorry for this question if answer was posted:
is anybody complain about v9.0 under win XP, example too much ram consumed etc… ?
Well I use XP Pro as you can see in my signature and I’m not seeing that problem.
The avastSvc.exe if anything RAM use may be a little less.
The avastUI.exe depending on when you check may well use more, the statistics and live charts, etc. will be more RAM intensive, but when closed should fall back down relatively quickly.
In the greater scheme of things avast (as a security based application) is much lower than many other applications, see image2. The avastui.exe doesn’t come in until 19th and the avastSvc.exe isn’t even in the first screen and that has 39 entries.
I think you should also look at what else is using RAM.
The major thing you don’t mention how much RAM you have installed ?
I would suggest 1GB minimum for XP (2GB even better) and you should see performance improvements across the system.
thanks for reply, i have 2gb in XP machine.
Then I would imagine that the amount used by avast would be acceptable, especially given what it does and when compared to other applications you are running.
