Hello been using Avast for years but never needed to pay for it. They took the money out against my wishes and I’m really not happy with this service, or the slow response time.
I work at a company where our response time is one HOUR for 90% of our tech and billing support. These kind of delays when it comes to sorting out financial matters really aren’t acceptable.
And that company has also +/- 400 million customers around the world ?
But I and most (all?) others agree that 15 business days is way too long, but as we do not work for avast we can’t do anything about it.
It used to be 10-15 business days, but then someone else took over the support department (Moroni)
And I must say, he did a great job.
Within 2-3 months handling time was down to 5 business at the most.
At the end of last year there was a huge increase in the handling time.
Partly because of the holidays (understandable in my opinion) and because they where in the progress of changing the tick system (as they said)
Not that I have noticed a difference but it can be internal of course.
Within a few weeks time was up to 10 business days and not much later 15 business days.
And now I see people have to wait 20 business days sometimes.
All we can do as volunteers is telling the people that it takes that long and asking them to have patience.
On a note:
Kinda strange thing is that avast dropped support for the users of a free product through the ticket system (without any notification at all >:() and the handling time hasn’t gone down.
I still have not got my refund and it looks like my ticket is no longer pending. I have contacted my bank, next I will be contacting my lawyer if I do not get my refund within 10 more days.
If you are entitled to it, avast for sure will give you the refund.
Did you change your ticket or created a new one ?
If so, you will need to start counting again.
avast is using a FiFo system and each time you change your ticket or create a new one means you are put back to the bottom of the stack making you to have wait longer.
As has been stated, the support ticket resolution is around 15 ‘business’ days (which is pretty poor) and you are still within that time frame (“Refund ticket was made on 6/27”).
If you are entitled to a refund then you should get it, the time to process it won’t effect that right.
The respondents to your topic are avast users not avast employees.
Are you serious, engaging a lawyer to recover $39.99, it will cost you more and if you happen to lose, it could cost you much more.
What would be more helpful would be to post your support ticket ID number and we will try to push it forward.
Are you seriously going to get a lawyer due to a $39,99 refund? Did you even do the maths? What would it cost you to get a lawyer versus what you get from it?
If people are asking for a refund today, they want to receive it yesterday.
But they are told that they have wait 5 years and if they do they will get $1.000.000 all of a sudden they have patience.
For sales and related matters, licenses renew, please, open a ticket: https://support.avast.com/support/tickets/new. Please, understand that the forum users can’t address these issues. The ticket system works by entrance order. Please, do not open a second ticket, as it will put your issue to the end of the list (FIFO).
