After installed Avast and scanned my computer (OS : Vista Home Edition) , all my services didn’t run in the start up, and all the start up application can’t run. The problem is many applications can’t run normally, for exam : Windows Media can’t play a movie ( It only has the sound and can’t display the screen ), windows aero doesn’t work… I can’t find anywhere to open the services that had been blocked by Avast. How Can I Do with It ??
First avast doesn’t block it scans and alerts to infected files (at that point it would block the file), so are you saying avast detects these as infected ?
Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
The above could have an impact that might appear to be blocking, but could be conflict between resident AVs.
What are these services you say are being blocked ?
Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services
could give you a list of the services. Which of them are NOT RUNNING but at the same time they’re set to AUTOMATIC start?
