Please answer question :
C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\sounds\
so can v replace them wit our custom sounds by renaming them ?
Yes
Only in the “custom” subfolder of that folder (and I’m not sure what you mean by “rename” - the names are fixed, have to match e.g. those in the 1033 subfolder - but yes, you can put your own content there).
there isnt any folder named sounds in xp. also inside 1033 also sound files arent present!! also custom folder is not seen
I’m running on Windows XP. Avast5. I have the same problem. Cannot find the Avast Sounds in any folder. None in control panel “Sounds and Audio Devices” either. Even tho I have enabled sounds in the Avast program…all I hear is when Avast has detected a virus on a website. No sounds for updating. What is wrong?
XP → C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Alwil Software\Avast5\sounds
The voiceover sounds are located in the numbered folder, 1033 is english.
Or if you have done a clean install of v6 rather than an update through the v5 gui,the location is:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVAST Software\Avast\sounds
Yeah, sorry forgot about that
- You must have the view for (Files and Folder Options) set to (View Hidden Folders)
