Where is the support staff? - Any help is appraciated

EAS indicates license file is invalid, however a test with a unmanaged client on the same 2003 server accepted it.

Purchased 21 licenses for the endpoint protection suite and would like to get this resolved before the demo license expires in about 3 weeks.

Opened a ticket 1 week ago and still haven’t heard a work back.

Any help is appreciated

Ken

What is EAS…??
Anyway, if you’ve problems with your license contact: sales(at)avast.com

EAS = Enterprise Administration Server

Anyway, if you've problems with your license contact: sales(at)avast.com

Didn’t think about contacting them as it worked w/ the unmanaged client… I suppose it couldn’t hurt

Aaaaaaaaaand we wait ::slight_smile:

Yes, I have the same issue! And I wait with you!

Weeeeell, it’s late in Europe. :wink:

Yea, but unfortunately my support ticket on this is a week old and hasn’t had any activity other than being sent to 2nd tier support (a week ago).

I think I’d be able to be a little more understanding if I had received at least an acknowledgement from them with a “We’re aware of your issue and will get back to you soon”… But spending close to 700.00, just to get the silent treatment is really making me wonder if I need to re-evaluate my recommending Avast to friends and customers.

Follow my suggestion and contact Sales, they usually reply fast.

I did, right after you suggested it :o … It went into my support Queue it’s status hasn’t moved from “Received” since lol

I don’t believe that sales can do the license fix. We need technical support to fix the license files.

avast@advantage - You’re a reseller, you don’t have a different (more direct) support channel?

Well it’s official, sales isn’t any faster on the trigger than support >:(

Sorry to hear that, but it might not be in their hands, if it’s a bug.

Have you got more than one avast! product in your license file?

Yes, but this didn’t strike me as odd, 4.8 had two products (1 for server, 1 for client)

Section for licensed product 1

Name of product: avast! Endpoint Protection Suite

Section for licensed product 2

Name of product: avast! Business Protection

We had renewed our 4.8 but after ordering Business protection (did not install it) we cancelled the order and went with End point protection suite instead (2 - 3 days apart)

Ken

Maybe this is the problem.

With the new avast! business products: avast! Endpoint Protection, avast! Endpoint Protection Plus, avast! Endpoint Protection Suite and avast! Endpoint Protection Suite Plus, you cannot combine products under the same console.

The licenses file is good for stand-alone installations but when you use it for ASOA or AEA, it’s not valid. :-[

In the past (avast! 4.x), you could combine avast! Server Edition, avast! Professional Edition or avast! Standard Suite under the same ADNM console, but not today!

You cannot use avast! Endpoint Protection with avast! Endpoint Protection Suite under the same console (ASOA or AEA).

I didn’t combine them… It came that way (the license)

Technically the only valid license should be the Endpoint Protection Suite…

I wonder what would happen if I removed the second license… hmmmmm

You will kill your license file! This needs to be done by avast! support.

uh-huh (excuse me while I bang my head on my desk a little more)
