Where's my User Name?

Hi.

I’ve been away from the forums for a while.
When returning I noticed that my user name Montmorency (which is still in my profile) was replaced on my posts by 3153600.
Could some Mod help putting things back?

You have Two names, 1 your User name (Montmorency) and 2 your Screen name (3153600).

Most people use their User name as their screen name.

I never chose that number as a screen name…
Anyway, how do I put my user name as screen name, I see no option in my settings.

Go to your profile > Account Settings > Top of page you see your Username, this CANNOT be changed, below that in a box is your DISPLAY name which you change to whatever you wish.

The display name box shows Montmorency.

You’re right, I forgot to explain.
I just went to my account settings (where both the user name and the screen name were Montmorency) and simply clicked “change profile” at the bottom of the page. I suppose thad did a reset of the account.

I wonder how the number ended up on my posts though…

Thanks, may help others in the future - I have no idea how the number got there if you didn’t put it there a complete mystery. It looks a little like a user ID number but it doesn’t match yours ::slight_smile:

This may be some unexplainable glitch and it doesn’t look like there was any tampering, but I would change my forum password just in case.
