fastest ???
I decide to compare Avantbrowser with Opera then… 8)
For me Firefox is my favorite, I love how you can install different add-ons and themes.
I’ve just voted for Opera
Why?? Cause it’s very fast free & don’t very hungry on recourcess. BTW as you can see from my signature i’m a happy user of it since ver. 5.12
I decide to compare Avantbrowser with Opera then.....and ??? ::) :) i like both are both are fast-just seems Avant loads sites and pages faster on my end here 8)
Avant is still IE. I don’t like IE.
I’ll wait for a stable release of Safari before I try it again, a long time ago I tried an alfa of Safari for Windows, it constantly crashed. From my experience with Mac’s, I may not try Safari. It doesn’t render some pages right on Mac’s, so why bother with it on Windows? :![]()
Opera is the way to go!

Firefox and Opera.
Although on any sites with adverts or involving typing, Firefox. (Adblock and inline spell check.)
I also prefer Firefox’s page search feature, and miss the ‘go’ button in Opera.
I like the ability in Opera to create a new tab with a right click. I don’t think there’s an easy way in Firefox- I always end up opening a bookmark in a new tab.
OK I just found you can drag a ‘new tab’ button to the toolbar: now Firefox is perfect. ![]()
EDIT: I like the search feature in Opera 9.21 more, I just tried it: great improvement, although I still prefer the search pane at the bottom.
For me if I click the middle button/wheel down whilst hovering over a link it opens the link in a new tab.
The same is true if I use the wheel button click in bookmarks, it opens the page in a new tab.
Sometimes I just want to do a search in a new tab- I can do that now I’ve added the ‘new tab’ button to my toolbar.
yeah I think Avant browser is not very fast as they said on the website.
So I uninstall it now.
and I think Opera & IE7.0 is a good partner suit for us… ![]()
I do it with a right click
no add-on needed.
I do it with a right click no add-on needed.
Unfortunately this only works when you already have two tabs open.
It doesn’t work when you only have the one page open, which is what I was getting at.
It doesn’t have to be on an empty part of the Tabs bar right click anywhere and you get the same options.
For me anyway it doesn’t matter if there is only one tab open, the menu is still there and it does open a new tab. Using FF 2.0.0.5.
Correct David
For me, when there is only one page open, there’s no tab.
Must be something in Options.
Yep, I didn’t have ‘Always show the tab bar’ ticked.

under help-help contents ;D does this help FWF my friend 8)
Always show the tab bar
If you’re only viewing one web page in a Firefox window, the tab
bar is not normally shown. Check this optionpreference to always show the tab
bar, including when only the Firefox window contains only one
page.
Yep, I didn't have 'Always show the tab bar' tickedoops! thought i was helping ;D
In conversations about computers or computer related, I will ask which browser they’re using. Most of the time they don’t know there are other browsers than IE. Some don’t even know what a browser is, even though they use a computer. I don’t criticize these people as they don’t know better.
It is strange that people in this forum would like or use IE (other than for it is required). I wont discuss why not to use IE. However, M$ most likely wouldn’t have progressed IE as it did with IE7 if it wasn’t for the market share that Firefox & Opera took from IE. Bill Gates admited he had FF on his personal computer for testing purposes.
From my experience, non-M$ software works better than M$ software on Windows systems. It is best to use non-M$ software on Windows as it will “force” M$ to improve. Opera & FF is much better than IE anyway! It doesn’t make sense for forum users to “like” IE.
I tried K-Meleon, it was really fast, but like FF it used lots of RAM & CPU cycles. Opera still rules! ;D
I just upgraded Opera to 9.22. I had to re-add Dr. Web Link Checker.
Does anyone know how to keep Dr. Web Link Checker through an upgrade/reinstall of Opera?
A double left click on the tab bar also opens a new tab. ![]()
