Which is Better F-Secure or Avast?

I have avast for a long time and its very good but i also saw some topics about avast not detecting some virus and F-secure could detect some of those viruses.
Which is better Avast! Antivirus or F-Secure?(Also note a reason why you like the antivirus)

Ask the same question at the f-secure forum and it will be the polar opposite to the answers you are likely to get here. Not to mention it would probably get deleted ;D

So for that first reason you are unlikely to get an independent non-biased answer. One other thing that isn’t on any independent comparison site is support, something often forgotten.

Avast meets my needs and has served me well for over six and a half years.

Well, at least performance wise i can say that avast! doesn’t really have a competitor. So here, avast! is clearly a better choice if you ask me. As for the others, it’s really up to your preference.

F-Secure is better for the economy of Helsingfors, Suomi.
avast! is better for Prague, Czech Republic.

No doubt in my mind. ;D

PS: I actually do prefer avast! on my PC.

That is a funny but good question. I actually just read an article on Antiviruses in PC World USA March 2013 edition, pg 70 that did a comparison of 10 different security suites but Avast was not even in the listing. I have used Avast for the last 8 years and now I have also tried F-Secure since it is very popular here in Sweden. They both are very strong in their skills, but Avast has always saved me from everything on the web that tries to get into my system while F-Secure would not even detect the same thing on the exact same website. So I feel strongly for Avast even though F-Secure did win #1 position in the magazine review. But it was a very good question to ask. My favorite thing about Avast is how it breaks the network connection if it detects harmful sites or locations. Love that! It is the only virus software that I have ever used that has this feature. Bravo Avast!
