Well, what do you miss in avast! Mobile Security?
I mean, security features only 8)
I really don’t want any of the things mentioned in the poll . What I want is for the product to be better suited for tablets and to include support for the Dolphin Browser in the Web Scanning.
Snap, none of the above as for the most part they have nothing to do with security and I really don’t like bloat.
I’d like to see something related to ads, and concur that ads might not be security-related.
At the very least, let me know when an application I am installing or just installed will push ads.
Blocking ads totally is likely impractical - after all we do get a bunch of apps free and ads support it, though I much prefer to donate to the author if the app is worth it and at least a dozen or so are worth having.
I don’t need links to removal or any other fancy features, as that can be easily done through the Setup menu.
I liked it, and posted about it, when DrWeb warned about some audio-video app full of AirPush ads.
I would like to see an improved application management. It would be nice if a user could overwrite every single specific right of every app
So if i have an application installed which should not be able to locate my position, i simply block this permission but can allow this app e.g. to access the internet.
Hi Tech,
Great would be to have an inbuilt url expander for shortened urls, so one knows where one’s clicks goes to…
polonus
Nothing of the above poll, just an option to remotely take front-face pictures of any thief silently and send it (with GPS data) to a friends phone or the avast! dashboard. 8)
Some countries have laws that block the hidden picture (without user intervention and also without sound).
Hi Tech,
Why not add a threat level like this: https://webapp.iss.net/gtoc/index.html
See attached…
pol
For anti-theft:
- An SMS command that uses the device’s default TTS engine to speak text
- An SMS command to record audio
- An SMS command to capture a video/photo (of the front camera if possible)
- An SMS command to capture a screenshot
- An SMS command to disable/close an application running in the background (some battery saving apps force mobile data/wifi/GPS off when the phone is in “sleep” mode, and I’m not sure what happens when they force it off, and avast forces it on…). By disabling unnecessary background apps, the battery would last longer too. Avast could check all the installed/running apps (like in the firewall) and upload the list to my.avast.com (excluding important system apps, perhaps).
Detection of Push Ads.
As Google changed its policy, seems we won’t see Ad-Blocking: remove unwanted adds (and also link to uninstall ofending apps) anymore :-\
I don’t mind ads, they do fuel the free apps, but i want to be notified when apps are overaggressive with their ads that integrate themself into the OS. Thats breach of my safety space and i don’t want them on my device. I’m not asking for blocking, i’m asking for detection and notification of the user. Because i dont’ even want to use such apps. Thats all i want and nothing else as the rest actually works as intended and i don’t really miss any feature. Maybe firewall for non-root users but unless API will allow that, we won’t see it i guess.
That seems reasonable. In the meantime, you can use AdAway for that.
AppBrain Ad Detector has a live module to warn about this.
I don’t know how long it will survive…
It’s better than Lookout and others imho.
I am using adaway for adblock and it works OK. For application I don’t think it should access internet, simply block it with avast firewall.
avast list all the apps in the firewall setting. It would be nice to only list the app which requires the network permit.
I miss the feature in the firewall configuration to prompt for firewall setting after an application is installed.
I am using other parent control tools for kids to use my phone. I would think it is a good addon.
what I want most is the feature to have privacy access control. why it is not an option in the vote?
What I would like to see is that avast! popup once after every app install opening the firewall settings for that particular app.
Sometimes we install and forget to set the firewall. Please, consider
Yeah!
I second that
The TECH username is a bit misleading. I thought it is an official thread to collect feature requests…
Whether it is official or not any suggestions may well be viewed by the developers on the avast! Mobile Security team.
