When I recieve a warning about a virus infection, there’s always a web link in the bottom right corner of the alert box asking me to send the virus and relevent information to Avast! I always mean to help them keep their records up to date, but I always seem to forget! I’ve since deleted the infected files in my chest, and I was worried that I had lost the info that Avast wanted, but then I look in my log viewer and saw the records of everything that I’d been alerted too. Is that the info Avast wants? How do I send it to them? Is there more I should know? Thanks!
Personally I have never done this as clicking the link opens IE, not my default browser and I refuse to use IE.
I’m also not sure what benefit avast would gain from a notice of malware it detected. On the form they talk of plotting the spread geographically though I’m not sure how much use that would be. The form is self explanatory, doesn’t ask much and the virus information is already populated from the detection.
