White screen virus

Hi!

I have the same(?) problem with https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=143471.0. This problem started after I got a trial version of Avast! premium software/anti-virus. Could anyone (first) teach me how to first get the computer running? (I cannot get any logs if I cannot open my computer and I do not have any spare disks lying around to boot with). Thanks.

We do need the log files to see what is going on.
Borrow a usb stick or something, make it bootable as instructed and put the tools needed on it.

Hi,sorry for the long wait, I was looking for a disc. I am using a Acer Extensa 4630Z computer, but I cannot go to BIOS and change settings. (IDK what button to press) and I probably will not be able to see anything due to the white screen virus. Can anyone help me? Thanks. (Essexboy, DavidR etc)

maybe this help Remove White Screen virus (Removal Guide) http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-white-screen-virus/

If success, you still need to get those logs from the guide Eddy gave you so that a expert can assist you

Ok checking it out. Thanks!

Hi uh I cannot go to the BIOS settings or whatever to allow the computer to load from disc or whatever (even if it loads I cannot see anything) so could someone please help? Thanks.

When you boot the system there is normally a message like “press del to enter setup”.
As soon as you see that start hitting the del key.
This is before(!) windows even starts loading.

I understand, however, there is no such screen or my booting problem would have been solved(black followed by the white screen)...

Daniel,

this still is a English forum…

Yes, I know, it is just my chinese typing software acting up…

Don’t type Chinese, just eat Chinese ;D

Nice joke. Anyway, do you know what I should do in this case? I do not have any recovery discs. Thanks!

Buy or borrow a (re)writable media [e.g. usb stick, cd-r(w), dvd-r(w)] or whatever.
Take it to a working system (library, neighbour, friend) and create the bootable medium with the tools on it.
Put it in (attach it to) your system, boot from it and run the tools.
In order to do so, you may need to change the boot sequence in the bios.
Attach the logs that the tools created to your post here.
We really can’t do anything without the logs.

Here are some suggestions on how to enter the bios (cmos) setup if you need to change the boot-order:
