Been wanting to ask this for a while but too lazy
When I download nvidia driver, the download always just “hangs” at 99%, no error message whatsoever. But if I disable avast anti-virus and restart the download it will be able to finish fine. This has been going on for like a year maybe longer how come no one reported it?..
- Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version…?
- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
- Other security related software installed…?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?
Avast Free anti-virus v10.3.2225 when I downloaded nvidia driver a couple days ago but this been happening for like 1 year+ for me so… quite a few versions.
Not just nvidia driver as well, a few month ago when I tried to download Java JDK it stopped at 99% and couldn’t finish. I had to disable avast and restart from beginning to get the file.
Happened on both my Win 7 SP1 64bit desktop and my win 8 64bit laptop.
Comodo firewall is the only other security software installed.
Always been using Avast, well at least for the past few years.
Update to the latest version (10.4.2233): https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=176600.0
sorry to bump this topic but this is still not fixed…
i just tried to download latest JDK (8u74) and stopped at 99%.
I had to stop all avast shields and RESTART the downloads from beginning…
Wasted bandwidth thanks to Avast…
avast 11.1.2253

Yes, the problem that the OP reported has been fixed.
2]
The JDK is from Sun, not from NVidia.
3]
The JDK is not a driver.

I just tested things and there was not a problem at all while downloading the JDK.
