Why can't I login to Password Manager!?

Hello everyone, I’ve been trying for quite some time to upgrade from Avast Password to Password Manager, as Avast kept demanding.

I setup a Master Password, followed the procedure, installed the extension on my browsers, and tried to run it…but then it asks me to sign in.

I have been trying to sign in multiple times, on any browser I use, with my regular Avast account email, using either my regular account password or Master Password…but every single time, without fail, it says “The username or password you entered is invalid. Please try again.”

Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to create a specific account for it? Do I have to change my account’s settings? Is my account bugged and cannot access the extension? Did anyone else have this issue?

I hope someone here can help me, because I’m at my wit’s end, thank you.

It seems your not alone with having issues to install.
it was trial and error for most of us but luckily it worked ok for me.
have a look through some of the pictures ive posted on this thread and see the feedback from others.
Which browsers have you tried, im on firefox.
have you got the square grey/or orange key on top right of page, when locked it as yellow exclamation mark on it.
Have you checked in your extentions its turned on. maybe thats why its not accepting the new password. as i said its trial and error and worth trying anything as all the issues others have had are slightly different to yours.
So you set a new password but thats not working. did you have a password set on the old manager. im guessing that shouldnt work as this is a new set up but its worth a try.

I have installed the extensions, they appear to be turned on, and I tried to press the Password Manager key multiple times to try the sign in, both on Firefox and Chrome, to no avail;

Should I change my account’s password?

Im not sure how too change it if you cant log in.
now im no expert just a user so im wondering if its worth totally removing the password manager and trying to install again as even though it shows as the old version in the UI has expired the button is still there to update now.

Firstly try loging into your account https://avast-uk.nexway.com/ and find out which password you have works for that then keep a note for the portal login.

hopefully someone else might be able to help with any other ideas to try.

might also be worth trying support. fill in the boxes and pick password manager

you could also try a repair. have a look half way down but when you get into the repair section click new password not old as suggested as this post is a year old
