Why do Avast make it impossible to unsubscribe

I’ve been through all of the options to cancel my subscription. The manage subscripriptions option only gives me an option to update the subscription to the Driver update option, which trashed my Dell XPS 17 speakers which have never worked since (they didn’t refund me on that despite me asking). I cannot unsubscribe.

None of the phone numbers listed to support work.

No support options exist.

I am having the same problem, I can’t contact anyone to tell them I need to unsubscribe. They just keep me running in circles, and I get back where I started. I can’t contact anyone on the phone, or message.

So what is the answer??

Hi all, I’m sorry to hear about these troubles.

You can unsubscribe by following this article:

If you do not see the “Unsubscribe” button for your order, please follow one of the alternative methods for cancelling the renewal: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/136/

I understand you are trying to contact our support, but are struggling to get in touch with the support member. If so, can you please check if you can follow the steps below?

  1. Go to Contact Avast Support - Avast Phone Number, and Chat Support
  2. Select - Unsubscribe - Avast software products - (select the reason from the list).
  3. Scroll down and click “Get support”.
  4. You should see a “Chat now” button. Click it to start the chat with a support member.

If you can’t follow these steps, can you send a screenshot of your experience? Can you please also check if the problem persists in the “incognito mode” of your web browser? You can access the incognito mode using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+N or CTRL+Shift+P.

Hello! Avast user here.

The customer support contact number I use is Australian but I can confirm it works.

I can also confirm I’ve successfully unsubscribed to subscription renewal, even though the customer service agent offered some amazing deals as incentive to stay with their service and I’ve yet to pass expiration to test if my card is still charged which some users have allegedly experienced.

In my experience I find when calling Avast customer service, starting the call troubleshooting a small fixable issue such as adding a new email to your account (a legitimate issue for me), establishing account information changes or even guidance & info on a product you’ve already purchased before requesting to unsubscribe enables you to be connected with the lovely refunds and accounts team with ease, and all the agents I’ve ever spoken with are honestly very kind & helpful. 5/5 :star: for the support team members!

Have you been successful in contacting them about unsubscribing? If not – Which country are you trying to contact them from? I’m happy to try and help anybody that feels they need assistance. :woman_detective:
