I no longer have wifi for my phone at home and use only mobile data. I checked the data usage and its 1MB every day (checked the last 5 days) just from Avast.
What on earth is it sending?? 1MB is an insane amount if it is just text, and if it isn’t just text, what is it sending exactly.
Is there any way I can find out what it is sending, and if it is not anti-theft related I want to cut that out completely.

Statistics, location and other info is send as you can read in the license/terms on the avast website.
And very likely it is also ment in the manual.

are you sure it’s sending 1MB? That seems a lot to me. If it would be downloading, that’d be a different case (I think virus definitions are a few hundred kB and they are being downloaded roughly twice a day).

Oh yes could be downlioading. I didn’t think of anything to download.
How can I turn off the virus definitions downloading? I don’t even want the virus scanning - I only want the anti-theft.

there is an option in the Settings somewhere to turn it off completely.

Gah … I didn’t read the update wording correctly and thought it was auto update of the main software and not of the virus definitions.
