Whenever I run the full virus scan, it spends a disproportionate amount of time showing 0%, before showing any positive %s. Yesterday, I had an extreme example: it spent all of its time at 0% before suddenly completing. What is happening during that 0% phase, some kind of preparation for the real scan? If so, it would be more helpful to show the scan as a two-phase process with a progress indicator for each phase.

That’s an extremely important part of the scan, so why is it not counted as part of the whole scan, and only merits 0%?

Yep. Guess there’s no way to time/calculate it.

I notice that the full virus scan no longer spends a long time at 0%, but quickly moves on to 1% etc. I’d love to think that this was a result of my raising the topic, but that’s too much to hope for, so I suspect the reason is more prosaic. Does anyone know?
