Because as your large image states, Alexa is adware/spware and not a virus. (avast! is designed to viruses, not adware/spyware). Thus you need to run an anti-spyware/adware program. Use something like this:

Starfighter, avast detects some spyware/adware. And since Alexa is one of the most widely spread (I think it comes with Windows) and some other av’s detect it, why doesn’t avast?
Probably for the same reason that many other AVs don’t detect it, it is adware and not really a threat, not to mention that Alexa is generally user installed, by deception perhaps.
Also check the Status part of the image you posted from Jotti, “non-destructive nature, etc.” they won’t even record the results in the database.
