Just now, I realised I had the recycler.exe virus on my laptop so I decided to give avast another try, since the last time I downloaded it caused my laptop to freeze and malfunction somehow and the hard-drive blew.
This time, I downloaded it, I used the normal scan it froze, the computer restarted and then BOOM, I try to log back in and every time I try it logs me out. I have tried safe mode too the same crap. THIS SUCKS. It has never helped me.
That’s 2, 2 different laptops. How can I fix it, I didn’t even get time to asses the malware it had listed, before the scan finished it just malfunctioned.
If anyone has any experience with this or tips please help. I was told not to download it, because it always does that after some time it crashed your computer and it just acts as spy-ware. I wondered why it was free. If this seriously is the case then other people have to know.
If you have already got a virus on your system then that would more than likely be the cause of your problem dont you think! and not avast, also have you fully removed all other AV’s old and new before installing avast ?
If you think you have a virus problem then you need to post here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=4.0, you can speed up the process by reading this topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0 and supplying the information requested by running the neccesary tools to start your cleaning process.
Whoever told you that avast act’s like spyware has no idea what there talking about, the free version of avast is almost as rich in features as the paid versions and if it were a bad AV then do you think Avast would have over 190 million users :o
That was the first time I have installed avast on that computer.
The virus has comfortably been sitting on the specific computer for about a year, Avast was installed today and the computer then goes funny. Maybe Avast triggered something, I’m not sure. All I know is that I try to log in and it logs me out straight away so I can’t even sign in to try to fix anything.
If worst come to worst would it be possible to extract the files from the hard drive?
As i mentioned earlyer you need to move you question over to the viruses and worms forum where they can help you better as if your system is infected then the virus is probably restricting and corrupting your avast install.
