why i can’t update virus definitons version on avast ? there’s no notification when update finished and there’s no change after i am updating, is this because of internet connection runs slowly? :-[
- What is your OS, 32 or 64-bit?
- What version of Avast did you install?
- What product of Avast did you install? Free, Pro, AIS?
- What other security software do you currently have or did you have in the past on this machine including:
- Antivirus (AV)
- Firewall (FW). What is your Firewall?
- Trial versions of AV, FW and other security programs
- Other security software
- If they were in the past, how did you remove them (the vendor’s uninstaller’s tool or another way)?
- Did the problem just start or have you had this a while? Did this happen after upgrading to a different version of Avast or installing a software or something else?
You can try an Avast Repair:
XP Users:
- Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Avast Antivirus.
- Scroll down and choose Repair function in the pop-up window.
- Reboot.
Vista & Win7 Users:
- Control Panel
- Programs & Features
- Uninstall a Program > Select Avast Antivirus
- Click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair
- Click Next and follow.
- Reboot.
But please answer the questions above so we can help you better. Thank you.
