Everytime Avast updates I get this notification telling me it will expire in 12 days but it says the current registration will expire on 1/1/2011 at 12:00 am and my date of registration was on 11/1/2009
is your computer time / day / month / year correct ?..if not adjust and reboot
have you tried avast repair ?

The registration is for a year, so you simply have to register again. It will still stay free.
As far as I know this is simply for statistics…
