I don’t quite understand the need (or benefit) of having your email address listed as a connected account so I unchecked the option and now I’m getting a warning stating “This installation of avast is not connected with any account.” So, should I reconnect? And if so, could someone please explain why I should do so? Thanks, in advance, for you responses.
I’m using Avast 8 RC1.
It is the indication that your avast installation is connected/linked to your my.avast.com account.
We don’t like it either, not because its there, but because it on every bloody page.

You can monitor the status of multiple avast installations through the one account.
If you only have one installation and don’t go away and leave your system on (or others able to use it) you won’t need to monitor the installations status. So linking/connecting to it isn’t so important.
