Why is this message even there when dismissed? It’s not like it’s of ANY importance yet someone felt the need it has to pollute the “Ignored” messages section and it ALWAYS shows that red circle with number than just annoys me every time I open that panel thinking “something important is there”. WHY?! Can someone fix this and get rid of this notification? It’s just a description of a firewall. It has NO purpose being there. You don’t stick other descriptions of functions there, so why this one? I don’t get it.
This may be because your network profile is set to “untrusted.”
Try changing it to “trusted,” and the message should disappear.
When set to “untrusted,” the notification simply informs you that it is protecting you from connections from other devices on your network.
It is up to you to decide.
And why is trusting it the only valid selection? I don’t have any printers and I don’t want other computers to be aware of each other. The “non selection” of “Trusted” option is intentional.
At the same time, the small “1” does not appear in the notifications (bell) on the various main screens of the UI.
It only appears when you open the notifications (as a recall), which greatly minimizes the notion of importance.
When there is important information, the “1” is present in all panels on the “notifications” tab.
That said, I basically agree that configuration settings should not appear, especially those that provide more security than the basic settings.
I would even go further—to agree with you—and say that not ignoring the message is much more annoying, because in this case the notification is permanently present on all panels.
I don’t know if avast has an explanation to offer?
