Why is Tiktok an advertisment from the app?

I downloaded the mobile app for the Samsung S20 Ultra, and an add from inside the avast app was for Tiktok. I wanted to know if this was an avast approved add, and if so how? It’s widely regarded as extremely unsafe. Etc etc.

Hi Bob Bobberson,

When you are in the USA or a USA citizen President Trump banned the use of it for security reasons (espionage).

The position of avast’s on the use of Tiktok is unknown to me,

As far as I’m aware in the free version of Avast Mobile Security the in app adverts aren’t controlled by Avast.

I’m sure I’ve heard Tictok is in the process of being banned here in Australia as well, certainly not a good idea for Avast to allow these types of Ad’s to be displayed :o

Hi guys, Dave is right, for details see: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Mobile-Security-notifications-ads/

The short answer is, you’ll still be able to use TikTok — if it’s already on your phone.
But at midnight between Sunday and Monday, TikTok will vanish from US app stores, including those operated by Apple and Google.
