Why no full scan?

I have used Kaspersky and Lookout and they have more thorough scanning. They scan apps the memory the sd card, folders, and media. I was wondering why avast mobile security does not have that feature. Is it still safe?

It does have the ability to do all that! Open avast go into virus scanner then tick scan apps if it is not already ticked I think it is and tick scan SD cards.

We don’t really know what’s scanned besides the .apk files and the contents of the external card.
Scanned file counts in, for example drWeb, are five to ten times higher than avast reports for identical steps of use.
Also in DrWeb we can select specific directories including system files (if rooted). That is very, very convenient.

Now, Avast scans on execution as well, if so selected. So IMO there is not a reason to worry since anything participating in running things, all the system stuff etc, would be scanned.

I’m just wondering why this seems like the only one that does run a complete fill scan.

Hi,

we don’t currently support rooted devices in the virus scanner so there is no point in scanning the system partition.
