Why so many!?!?!?! and why won't my MSN work!?!?!?

Hi. My sister has messenger but when she has tried to get the better version. She’s downloaded it but When she tries to signin - shes get’s the error 8000ffff. Oh, And If I get an ever newer version. It says that is won’t work if it’s less than service pack 2.

I have tried to remove it. But it doesn’t show up in Add or Remove programs (Look at picture)

And it won’t go to a lower version??? any help or ideas. I have tried removing the files from c:/program files - But that didn’t do anything.

I took a picture of what type the comp is or whatever it is (other pic)

You will probably need to update to SP2, if not SP3.

Which is a good idea anyway, as SP1 is about as secure as a wet paper bag.

When I tried to remove the component this came up.

But it doesn’t work even with sp2. Still the same error. I think it might be the missing file

MSN Messenger is about as security-vulnerable as AOL’s Instant Messenger;
I have MSN Messenger “disabled” on my computer and use the better Yahoo
Instant Messenger. It may come to pass that in order to use the MSN
Messenger, use will have to use a “go-between” like “Pidgin” from
www.pidgin.im/ or “Trillian” from www.ceruleanstudios.com !?

She has her friends on MSN, She won’t change ^^

Pidgin and Trillian are both MULTI-protocol im’s and both of them support MSN protocol. They are not the only ones but are certainly one of the best, especially Trillian(the payed for version) To see which networks they and others support go here:
