why why why why

avast pro has missed 18 trojans while scannig , caught by super antispyware pro , i love avast and i’m vey angery about that .

Because because because because none software is perfect…
Can you carefully restore the files and send them to virus (at) avast (dot) com for analysis.
Thanks for helping improving detection

I’m just curious… how did you detect the “18 trojans” with the other Virus program?

Are you saying that you use two different VP programs?

I assume you ran a scan that “detected” these “18 trojans”… right?

Frankly that is a lot of viruses found.

What are the circumstances?

Are you saying that your system had these “18 trojans” for some time?

Or is this a form of “test” that you ran?

OP
If you had 18 real trojans- and have verified with virus total and possibly googled them and are not in a “test mode” you have a serious problem
run ccleaner or similar
run a couple of on line anti virus scans, configure to scan archives, e-mail etc
Kaspersky
Bitdefender
then a couple of other scans
since you have trojan hits try a-squared
watch for FPs in all the above
you could also try the new spybot 1.6, counterspy, spysweeper, spyware doctor
if you are still getting hits post a Highjack This (HJT) in your favorite spyware removal forum

hopefully you were running a test
submitting your hits would be very helpful
what exactly did you find?

They were caught using SuperAntiSpyware which is used for Malware and such like, it’s not an AV Prog.

Original Poster - still there?
What we are trying to determine is “what were your superantispyware hits”

Avast pro detects some spyware
however there are many varieties out there and they morph routinely
using lots of heuristics as bitdefender does can generate many false positives for the unwary
I recommended a Kaspersky on line scan as it does a better than average job on trojans
There is also “Trojan Hunter” and A=squared
18 trojans would kill most systems
if you were not on a virtual machine in test mode get some help asap

avast Home detects the same… there is no such difference in avast versions.

Take care about false positives…

Even if they have different names it’s likely that the 18 belong to the same infection . An infection I cleaned had several files detected by the AV installed in that computer + more than 10 dlls (with different MD5) and 2 exes that the AV didn’t detect.

And are you absolutely sure they were trojans and not just tracking cookies.

well OP clearly said trojans
OP???

Where is kaifani? People come, ask for help and disappear

3 posts on July 6th and this one on the 9th
I do hope he has tracking cookies but feel that the response has to be as if he has Trojans
perhaps he’s down
GOOD LUCK OUT THERE KAIFANI
