When I download a file I right click and scan that file only, but with this version that starts a complete scan of my 2 tb drive. Tried to change it but no luck. Why would you do that?

This issue is reported before, it seems your scan settings are somehow corrupted.
Reset avast settings to factory default should solve this.
avast! Main Window → Settings → Troubleshooting → Reset factory defaults → Check “Program Settings” and click “Reset now”
