For the most part, I’ve had no problems with the newest program version 17.4.2294 of Avast IT Security. I noticed after I updated the program, I am no longer able to run a full Wi-Fi Inspection, it just stalls after 47% and doesn’t show my other devices connected.
Interestingly, when I run a smart scan… that isn’t so. ??
I have a young man (HS age) computer wiz kid in my apartment building and want to make sure someone hasn’t hijacked my wi-fi. Not sure that makes sense…
Anyone have a suggestion? BTW: I did run a repair

Is there anything mentioned in the/a log file that could be giving more information ?
Nothing! that’s the odd thing. I would think that in the smart scan it would mention something. All that is mentioned is I need to do some clean-up, so please buy the performance program.

It is rather easy to check normally if the WiFi is hacked.
Open the router configuration page and check the DNS settings.
When in doubt if it is correct > https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/
Set it to that one and check once in a while if it hasn’t changed.
While at the configuration pages, check all other settings as well. (it won’t hurt

Hello,
Thank you for reporting this issue.
For analysis we will need some logs.
First enable debug logging: GUI → Settings → General → Maitenance → Enable debug logging
Then reproduce the issue (Run Wi-Fi Inspector scan).
Then create support package and submit it (guide here: https://www.avast.com/en-us/faq.php?article=AVKB33) and post the ID of the created package here, so we can find it.
Thank you,
Filip
Thanks Eddy. … I am having an issue locating the configuration pages. I have been away from home for several days which is why I didn’t respond sooner. Could you help me out a little more?
I tried to follow the instructions from Filip… but was unable to to submit the scan… as i just continues to run.
Thanks
I did as you indicated, but did not receive a number at the only e-mail on file for my Avast accounts. Issues are same… Wi-Fi inspector is stalling when scanning my router at 47%

Check the routers manual to find the login IP.
Usually it is something like 192.168.2.254

Hello streim,
The ID is displayed in the Support tool after the package is generated.
It is marked in step 8 of the guide (https://www.avast.com/en-us/faq.php?article=AVKB33).
Can you please reproduce and generate it again and send us the ID?
Thank you,
Filip
