Wierd Add pop-ups

Heres the problem, a fiew days ago my sister (she owns a laptop and I a PC) had this problem where her browser was super laggy and couldnt load 90% of the sites she tried to go onto. She said that she had wierd adds popup in seperate windows when she entered some sites and she was 100% that it was a virus because she had read that from somewhere.Avast wasnt able to find a virus or infection , but the browser was really laggy. She had to resort to Restoring her laptop with “windows backup and restore”. Now the problem is that today I’ve had a fiew (2 or 3) adds popup like that in new seperate windows on my PC , something that is happening for the first time since I use AddBlock (dont bother complaining that using AddBlock is bad , I like being addless so I do it) and I am worried that the same could happen to me.I currently am doing a full system scan with Avast(it is updated to the newest version). So my questing is : Is this a virus of some sort or malware , is it common , can Avast take care of it?

Soo “helpful” , really worth going on the forums…

Just follow the instructions and you will get help.
Keep in mind that we can’t see the systems, nor have access to it.
That means you will need to provide the information we ask if you want help.

No security programs have 100 % detection…

Most likely a PUP = not virus / Possible Unwanted Program ........crapware that comes bundled with freeware downloads

You can usually remove this crap with Malwarebytes and AdwCleaner
Malwarebytes http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/malwarebytes-anti-malware/
AdwCleaner http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

I kinda find it funny how I am here on the Avast support forum and the people are telling me “You have to download a different antivirus because our one doesnt have the needed functions” … thx for the help anyway.

No, we are not telling you to download another av.
We are telling you to get some additional tools.

If you really want help, do as we say.

They are analysis tools which will show where the adware is and enable me to remove it safely

Yea , and Malwarebytes has the good reputation of being such a pain in the a** to uninstall that they really have a guide on their site on how to uninstall it (that includes downloading a small program to fully uninstall Malwarebytes). Sounds soo good… soo good.
Pardon me for acting like you are the problem (I realise you are helping me) but you learn not to trust the Internet so much not to mention when it comes to personal stuff , like your PC and/or information from your PC.

We can’t help you without the logs.

The choice is yours, I can help or not. If you do not want to install MBAM then that is not essential

Run at least Farbar and attach the logs.
Let’s start with that.
If/when needed we can always use other tools later.

We can only help you if you help us.
