wierd situation..detecting by avira some of avast contents

hi i installed avast with avira to see if avast can detect some that avira might have missed (just wondering)

while scanning with avast at some points of scanning avira is detecting some contents of avast like C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp_avast4_\unp117018484.tmp as TR/ATRAPS.Gen Trojan and some …the same path but different ending name like … C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp_avast4_\unp29990031.tmp as TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen Trojan…and the same paths different endings like the example the avira detected 3 ATRAPs and 2 CryptX from the paths and different endings…get me??hheehe… well while booting the avast scanned and detected some root kit boot sector virus and i deleted it hehe and it deleted something again and i deleted it hehe…thats all thnx…what should i do?

EDIT<<

btw i looked at the virus chest of avast and on the system files tab … kernel32.dll … winsock.dll …and wsock32.dll all are in the path C:\WINDOWS\system32 … whats this?? are these really a virus>??? please help hehe…

please help me and tell me what to do…

Don’t use two antiviruses simultaneously - it’s not a good idea.
Their resident parts will conflict sooner or later - if you’re lucky, like you’ve just noticed, if you’re not, much worse…

No, they are clean copies put there by avast.

And in what section of the chest did you find the above files? I will guess they are in the "System files" section of the chest. If this is true, then avast copied these files to that section as backups while the originals are still in their proper places. These file copies are there in case avast needs them to repair the original files should the original files become infected. Please do not delete them if they are in the "System files" section. Leave them there unmolested.

I really do wish Alwil would get rid of this All Chest Files collation of the three sections:

  • The only area you should be interested in is the Infected Files section, this is where the files detected by avast and selected by you to move to the chest are placed.- The User Files section is where the user can add files they suspect of being malware but not detected by avast.- The System Files section is where avast keeps back-up copies of important system files in case the original becomes infected (leave them alone).- The All Chest Files is a collation of the three sections.
