Hi, I seem to be unable to do a network scan recently.
I click on the pop up that offers to scan network when I start the PC as always & it opens Avast UI & it just says “Feeling disconnected? Please connect to a network to scan for vulnerabilities.”
But I am connected. Also if I go to Menu it says “The online content is unavailable. Please check your internet connection & try again”. My internet connection is perfectly ok as I am able to log into to the forum here to be asking this question. Please help.
If Repair doesn’t fix the problem, try the following:
If your Avast settings are not the default settings and you want them restored after the Clean Install, follow this before removing Avast. https://goo.gl/TXjM7h Clean Install of Avast: https://goo.gl/4Ptzkf

I don’t know why you get this popup (or what it looks like) as I don’t get any such, a screenshot might help.
I click on the pop up that offers to scan network when I start the PC as always
I have just manually run the WiFi Inspector Scan and chose Home network (which mine is) and not a Public network. This has just completed successfully and no unexpected results.
Yes I have the latest version of Premium & everything is completely up to date & working.
The pop up appears every day when I start PC & lets me scan network either choosing home or public (home is my situation) But it doesn’t matter if I use the pop up or if I go directly to Avast UI to use wifi inspector ot still looks the same (see attached). This has only recently started to occur, never had an issue before with it.
I just wonder if in your scan WiFi Inspector scan settings you have it notify you of new network connections ?
Previously I didn’t have this option enabled at first, but I have done so, I will have to see if this causes the “pop up that offers to scan network when you start the PC” that you spoke of.
Having seen your screenshot now, I did get that appear for a short period of time but (that was when I initiated the scan) it did complete the scan, which I ran twice.
Apologies chaps for the delayed response & thanks for your replies. Just been rather busy recently.
Anyway here is a couple more screenshots now, one showing the pop up I get.
Having done a little more reading I think I may have a grip of the situation now, but please correct me if I’m wrong.
Since the recent update it appears that Wifi Inspector is set as default to automatically scan networks & automatically selects what sort of network (Home or Public) that you are on??
The pop up still appears every day giving me the option to select what network I want to scan but whichever I select ends up with the “Feeling disconnected” screen which is totally non-functional!
I am getting notifications that scans have been done & history also shows the same.
Now here my ignorance comes to the fore as I’m not sure 100% what my setup is to be perfectly honest & networks have always confused me but I will explain & hopefully learn how best I should be setup.
I work from home & have 1 router which is connected to 1/ Sonos Speaker 2/ TP-Link AV600 Powerline 3/ Edimax Gig network switch, to which I have various bits of equipment connected, 1 pc, desktop printer, large format digital printer, WD Mycloud Ext. Drive.
I presume I would class this as a “Home Network”? But why does Avast wifi inspector do a more thorough scan on a home network than a public network?? Surely a public network is more dangerous?
The only issue that is usually flagged by the inspector is my large printer despite having changed the user name & password it still sees it as vulnerable for some reason.
There! I now look like a complete idiot & look forward to any help with improving my setup :-[ ;D
