I am using Avast Free Antivirus and the latest version on Windows 11.
There is a feature called WiFi Inspector and it inspects my WiFi.
But, it always says that my WiFi password is weak.
Yes, I believe it is set to random characters. I am sure.
The question is does Avast take my WiFi password or not.
And also, how?
It shouldn’t spy on me typing the WiFi password.
When you loged in to your wifi network for the first time, you gave the network name and password to your Windows OS and now your OS have given that info to Your antivirus program
It isn’t spying on you, it is doing the job you installed it for to look after you and warning you that your WiFi password is weak is just one part of that protection.
You say that “Yes, I believe it is set to random characters. I am sure.” doesn’t tell me that you have physically checked.
Use google as I have to see what your WiFi Router default password is, if it is a default, then it doesn’t matter if it appears random.
I really was thinking I shouldn’t have responding to your post, fighting what people suggests just confirms that doubt.
I think what the other are pointing about, is the admin username password used for changing the router’s settings.
which usualy have default username password. Which is different from the password to be able to connect to the network/wifi that usualy the randomly generated
