Hi
I have a non rooted samsung galaxy s2.
I was able to set it as a wifi hotspot and then assess internet from my laptop and my wifes phone.
Yet today its not working anymore.
I manage to activate it on my phone - the devices did connect to my galaxy - yet they are unable to use the internet connection?
The only thing i think might be causing this is avast mobile security.
Has anyone had a similar problem
Well… avast! Mobile Security includes a firewall for rooted phones.
It does not change any network/wifi configuration in non rooted phones, just scan.
I have a rooted Samsung Nexus with AMS and the firewall installed and running.
When I have tethering problems, I, generally, blame the computer, not the phone (services running into Windows, DHCP, etc.).
Yes, as i answered before - please check the wifi settings (channels and security) and firewalls on other devices. On non-rooted devices AMS has no way how to affect data connections.
