Wild Tangent app/game channel Avast Warning

I have had 3 of my clients call within the last hour and a half all with the same Avast virus warning for the subject title. They have moved all to the chest and then rebooted. Is this a false positive or should I be worried?

Based on the lack of information no one can say.

What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here the URL in the Address bar of the VT results page. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.

Create a folder called Suspect in the C:\ drive, e.g. C:\Suspect. Now exclude that folder in the Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect* That will stop the standard shield scanning any file you put in that folder. You should now be able to export any file in the chest to this folder and upload it to VirusTotal without avast alerting.

If it is indeed a false positive, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34950.msg293451#msg293451, how to report it to avast! and what to do to exclude them until the problem is corrected.

Thank you for answering so quickly! I am sorry that I forgot to post the infected firle name. So here it is. I have had two more clients call with the same problem and once in the chest all is well.
"C:\ProgramFiles\Dell\MediaExperience\extension\WTGames\InstallWT.exe"file.

Be used to avast forum speed

Did you submit this file to virustotal like David said?

I had to let it go until this morning way busy but will submit it now. If indeed it is a false positive I will submit it to Avast. Thanks again to both of you. Great Information and support.

 Hi :

Based on the Info you have provided, it appears the Wild Tangent people
have paid Dell to put their program on their computer(s); generally speaking,
the malware-fighting “community” consider Wild Tangent as an “undesirable”
Game “network”. I would not have them on my computer . Would recommend
you and/or your clients seriously consider the Info at both :
