I have two paid Hotmail accounts which I use often. Will avast On-Access Protection scan Hotmail accounts within Outlook Express or Outlook? If not is there any work around? I did seee I was able to configure for Hotmail the email clients under On-Access Protection Control.

doesn’t matter where the files come from, as soon as a file comes to your system from web, floppy, cd, dvd, network etc. Avast can scan it with the on-access scanner. If a file is scanned depends ofcourse on the exact settings in Avast.

I think that on version 4.5 you will be able to get Hotmail accounts into the Internet Mail provider. Although, I’m not sure as Hotmail is not a pop3/smtp server email :-\

Hotmail uses McAfee scanner for its attachements,and files that are not scanned with McAfee are scanned with avast!'s Standard Shield.
