Windows 98 platform: ashserv will not launch after reinstall. Realtime protection and application “Encounter Problem” when started. ashwebsv appears to be running though? How do I capture the error report to send through my hotmail account? Please Advise.
Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
You must be connected to the internet while repairing.
If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?
I’m afraid the error dumps don’t contain any useful info.
The problem may have something to do with MS Jet drivers, i.e. with the ODBC database, but that’s a very wild guess.
