I have just installed Avast4 home in my computer. OS is win2K with Raid 0 configuration. After Avast runs a while , windows stops and a blue screen comes up saying an application is trying to write something . Then the computer reboots and goes into a disk check with lots of references to Avast , then windows starts as normal . I use it a while and the same thing occurs over and over again. Does Avast4 work in a raid 0 configuration? What am I doing wrong?
Can you check if into the folder \windows\minidump there are .mdmp files and send it for analysis? Better if you can compress (zip) them and add some information about the BSOD and the link for this thread. ![]()
Send an email to any of these addresses:
vlk (at) avast.com
rypacek (at) asw.cz
Or upload to the any of these anonymous ftp servers:
ftp://ftp.asw.cz/incoming
ftp://www2.asw.cz/incoming
Besides Googling the blue screen error, also you can use MS knowledgebase: http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1
Hope it helps.
I found 3 Minidump files 64K each. Shell I send all 3 files to email above? Tks
Yes. Please, inform in the email body a link to this thread.
Maybe the ‘small’ dumps won’t be enough to discover the solution of the problem :-\
I have sent copies of the 3 small minidumps to vlk@avast.com with reference to this thread. Yesterday I did not experience this reset problem when I turned on the computer with Avast4 installed. I hope you can glean some clue as to what happened . Thanks
