Hi today I was installing the windows 8.1 update and avast blocked these two things. VolumeShadow.exe in the Acer Backup manager\win6-32 and another VolumeShadow.exe in the Acer Backup manger\xp-32. I think it may be a false positive but any help would be appreciated.
Win 32:Evo-gen [Susp] = Suspicious

you can use mail
send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject: False Positive / undetected sample (select subject according to your case)
zip password: infected
or you can send files from avast chest

Ok thank you. Should I post the OTL and Malwarebytes logs on here just in case or not bother?
test the files at www.virustotal.com if clean i dont see the need to do that
however, it you are suspicious and want a check … you may do it, the check is free.
