I’m shaking right now because of this. I ran my scans and today these two popped up one is a temp file so I don’t know where it’s from. The other is from Steam making me think it is a FP. What do I need to do to confirm or deny !Avast’s detection. Added another file to show what it looks like in the chest.

EDIT: Getting log files now. This might take a while. Can’t get ASWMBR because I run a Windows 8.

There’s a problem. One of the files (The one from steam) wont send for some reason, the menu to type in all the data doesn’t appear. Also what about the logs?

Looks like a false positive on the steam update file, I would suggest that you do as Pondus states :slight_smile:

Thanks essex. Both files were scanned in the chest, they both no longer appear as malware I’ve still deleted them just to be sure. My guess is I have !Avast set too aggressive. What is a good mid-point between security and aggression?

I use aggressive hardened mode as then I am given the option to run or not for suspicious files

I mean for the Heurostic detection. For all the Sheilds and Scans I had it set to max.

I would leave heuristics at normal
