My pc was recently infected by sality virus. It caused many exe files to be corrupted. Also while opening task manager I get the error “Task manager is disabled by administrator”.The virus is causing chaos in applications and corrupts many files.
I ran the full system avast scan but still the problem persists.
plz help…

Download and install Malwarebytes (MBAM) => http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Install it, update it and run a full scan.
Post the log when it’s done.

There’s no need to run dr.web now…
I think Malwarebytes will found the malware and delete it for good.

meaby malwarebytes will find it meaby not. malwarebytes is a good first choice of scan. but dr web cure it have shown in many simler case be effectiv removing the sality. if she/he is lycky malwarebytes will find th infection and fix it if not dr web is the best next opition.

If this is sality, I rather doubt MBAM will do as good a gob in actually trying to repair the infected files. Sality is a rather aggressive file infecter and removing the infected files could leave your system it tatters.

So I would suggest the DrWeb CureIt or LiveCD options suggested first as they will give the option to repair. How successful that repair might be isn’t guaranteed.

Malwarebytes PRO will block the install of sality/Vitro/Virut
but if already infected it will not scan and clean

They also recomend a format/reinstall in most cases in mbam forum
