Win 32 Sector 12

Good afternoon. Recently at my acquaintances cases of infection with a virus win32 sector 12 have become frequent. Whether protects Avast from the given type of viruses.

I apologise, but mine English not so good, I use the translator

Well it is hard to say based on a malware name as there is no standardisation in naming malware. So the name could be different from one anti-virus to another, so there may be many different names (aliases) for the same malware.

I have tried a search for win32.sector in http://www.virusbtn.com/resources/vgrep/index and it returns no hits. This is where I usually check for aliases as you can enter one name and it searches for that name in its database and shows what other AVs are calling it. So I can’t say if avast detects this or not for sure.

A google search brings some hits and there is a reference to win32.sailty (http://forum.grodno.net/index.php?topic=36725.0), now if this correct this is a particularly nasty .exe file infecter and avast detects 96 variants of this.
