What gives? Is this a virus?

After years of using Avast, I’ve never seen a popup promotion anything like this.

Wouldn’t be hard to spoof 'Avast’s design in a virus encrusted popup I’m sure, so I find this worrisome. (I’d upload an image but all I’m seeing here is a hyperlink that would need a site where images are posted & I do not have an account at one of those.)

Thanks. I’d not thought to browse through the forums but tried relying on the ‘search’ function for “MacBook” (no hits, at least for me).

You’re welcome, it is hard to be first at reporting something on the forums ;D

The search function is good, but you have to hit the right search term (and if you specified a sub-forum), though I’m surprised that it didn’t return any hits on macbook. I got 4 pages of hits 2 of them about the promo in the first 6 hits.
