Hi,
please work through the link “VirusRemoval” below in my signature and then come back with some more info, e.g.:
- full path/folder/filename of the infected file
- version of your Windows
- results of scan in safeMode (F8-Boot) and/or a boot-time scan
- a hijackthis-Log
Win32:Beagle-BG3 is not yet listed with the avast CLEANER, but you might give it a try anyway
winxp all packs and updates installed
Virus is Win32beagle BG3wrm
C:\windows\system32 also in memory (have moved to chest but still boots up)

Hi,
what about the scan in SafeMode ??
here’s an anlysis of the log:
http://hijackthis.de/logfiles/108999d9d27d67799d3d94be1fe7690e.html
fix everything marked yellow there,
EXCEPT:
- avast-stuff in O23
- O17
- zhotkey
- O20 igfxsrvc.dll
(fixing means: checkmark the respective lines, then click “Fix Checked”-button below)
reboot to safeMode, scan and move to chest with avast any leftovers, and then try again
if you get warnings about files in c:\System Volume Information\RESTORE, then disable RESTORE first (see “VirusRemoval”-link below)
as to the infected file:
the necessary complete info should be something like
c:\windows\system32\badfile.exe
Edited the above, please reread !
