On its most recent scan Avast discovered the following (attached):

Any suggestions on what it is and how to get rid of it.

the solution is to NOT use the “scan memory” setting as it give some veird scan results

i think this is the second most asked question in this forum…so you should find lots of info if you search the forum for memory scan

Thanks for your quick reply. I will turn off scan memory and search for forum for “scan memory”. I really didn’t think of this as a memory issue but rather as a trojan issue.

Re: my previous response.
I have used Avast for several years on at least 6 computers using the same scan settings and this is the FIRST time this has ever been reported by any Avast scan – False Positive???

if you get that detection with memory scan off…then you can start to worry
did you read any of the scan memory topics?

unless you have some special need or know what you do, i recomend using default scan settings
