My girlfriend’s computer has become infected with Win32:DELF-ESC and I simply cannot remove the cursed thing! I’ve tried running Avast! in Safe Mode, as well as using Unlocker in a bid to overcome Windows’ annoying file permissions message, but to no avail.
I’d be immensely grateful for any help you may be able to offer.
Are you (she) using Windows XP?
Can you schedule a boot-time scanning?
Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning.
Select for scanning archives.
Boot.
If infected files are found, it’s safer to send them to Chest instead of deleting them.
This way you can further analysis them.
For a Delf "Infection", be prepared by reading through the Info in our
"Thread" at http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=32014.msg267702;topicseen#msg267702 .
