Hi
I’m afraid that the internet connection issues may be related to HP Network Devices, but it’s not my area of expertise and I don’t want to confuse you. I think that you should seek for help with that issue in some typically technical board (not malware related).
For now let’s remove the Panda findings.

Reports attached. Outlook Express is now really slow to open and keeps getting stuck!?
I have been considering uninstalling IE and re-installing it to see if that would help - though I am sure you would have advised this already if it was a good idea. Looking at all my programs in the control panel - I can’t even see Internet Explorer listed there to uninstall it - only the Google toolbar. When I use IE, even with it’s limits, it is like something is missing - only certain pages I have saved in my favourites bar, work and I can get as far as putting in a search phrase, but when I click on a any search link, nothing happens. Like I say, it’s as if half of what is needed to make IE work, is missing. Does this suggest anything to you?

You can’t uninstall IE, it’s part of the OS.
I had no idea!!! ??? So, did the last scan show anything?

Hi and sorry for the delay. Yesterday forum was down, so I wasn’t able to reply.
IE is truly a part of Windows and cannot be uninstalled in a simple way. Also please clarify what program are you talking about to receive your e-mails. As far as I am concerned, Outlook Express isn’t Windows 7 compatible. Are you referring to Micorsoft Outlook? Windows Live mail?
Sorry, yes - I meant Microsoft Outlook. IE has stopped working altogether today!!

Hello,
I’ve tried to research the possible fixes for your issue. Here are some things we may try (credits to Dakeyras @G2G).
Fix Internet Explorer issues to make IE fast, safe and stable
Tweaking.com - Repair Internet Explorer
Reapir Office Programs
Try them out and please inform me about any improvement.
Success at last!!! The first link found that the ‘data executive prevention’ (whatever that is) was disabled. I still wasn’t able to search anything after that, so uninstalled IE 11 so that it went back to version 10. Everything seems to be in perfect working order now. THANK YOU!!! I can’t tell you what a relief that is. I’m one happy lady ;D
And apart from Avast, which of the scan tools I downloaded would be prudent to keep and use regularly?

I advise you not to stay with IE 10. Even if you don’t use it, it’s a crucial part of Windows OS. Leaving it that way is a great security risk.
I strongly recommend to upgrade it to IE 11… Of course this is your call, but bare in mind this vulnerability. In any case, here are the instructions:
https://sites.google.com/site/cannedfixes/updating-software/InternetSexplorer.png
Updating Internet Explorer manually
IE is an integrated part of Windows core. Leaving it without updates is a great risk for your data security, even if you don’t use it!
[]Visit THIS website.
[]You will find there IE 11 to be downloaded nad installed.
Let me know about your decision
About the other scanners. The tools we’ve deployed are to be used only under the guidance of the malware analyst. As mentioned prior, logs they produce are interpreted and analyzed not only with the “threat found” term. They present the overall view of the system, the registry and so. Leaving them for unsupervised usage (and any attempts to do that, without consulting a trustworthy source) may bring more harm than good, so I’ll clean them later.
Please update me about your overall status, as well about your IE decision. I will provide later some tips about staying clean and secure
Cheers,
Naat
No worries…IE 11 is back on and working ok as far as I can tell
